PLAN A WEB SITE

 

  1. Decide on the purposes of the Web site, and then decide what Web pages are needed for the site.

 

START FRONTPAGE

 

  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, and click Microsoft FrontPage.

 

CREATING A NEW WEB, BASED ON WEB PAGE FILES IN A FOLDER

 

1.      Click File from the menu

2.      Point to New

3.      Click Web

4.      In the New dialog box, click the Import Web Wizard icon. 

5.      In the Specify The Location Of The Web text box, type the folder containing the files for the new web

6.      Click OK

7.      Click the From a Source Directory Of Files option

8.      Click the Include Subfolders check box

9.      Click the Browse Button

10. Browse to the folder that you want to import

11. Click OK

12. Click Next twice

13. Then click Finish

 

OPEN A WEB PAGE

1.      Click File from the menu

2.      Click Open Web

3.      In the Open Web dialog box, browse to the folder containing the Web

4.      Then click the Open button


 

VIEW OR EDIT A WEB PAGE

In the Folder List, double-click the filename (with an .htm extension)

 

 

PREVIEW THE APPEARANCE OF A WEB PAGE IN PAGE VIEW

 

  1. In the Views bar, click the Page icon

 

 

 

At the bottom of the FrontPage window, click the Preview tab

  1. In the Views bar, click the Navigation icon

 

 

 

 

  1. In the Folder List, click the Web page filename
  2. In the Views bar, click the Hyperlinks icon

1) In the Views bar, click the Tasks icon

 

2) In the Views bar, click the Folders icon

 

3) In the Views bar, click the Reports icon

 

 

TO PREVIEW A WEB PAGE

 

  1. Display the page in Page view
  2. At the bottom of the FrontPage window, click the Preview tab.
  3. Or click the Preview in Browser button on the toolbar.
